Summary

The chilly midwinter morning of 11 January 1992 in southern Indiana was shaping up to be ideal for quail hunting. At around 10:45am on the outskirts of Jefferson Proving Ground just outside the town of Madison, two brothers caught sight of something off the side of Lemon Road as they drove along. The men jumped out of their pickup and walked through an isolated open field toward what looked like a department store mannequin laying on the ground. were posed. Blood pulled underneath the victims head and limestone residue was detected

on the soles of her feet, from the nearby road. Not far from the body, forensic officers

located a melted empty two-liter soda bottle, which smelled of accelerant. Unfortunately,

no fingerprints could be recovered from the bottle due to the heat damage. So footprints

and tire tracks were the only other available clues. Identifying the vehicle that had left

the tire tracks would be time consuming, but it was the only lead available in attempting

to track down the person responsible, or anyone who had been in the area around the time

of the murder. Jefferson County Sheriff's Office began pouring over the missing person's
