When the son of man cometh shall he find faith on the earth.

Lord I believe help thou mine unbelief.

May our testimonies mine unbelief.

May our testimonies be as deep and strong as that of Jacob, when confronted by one who sought to destroy his faith declared,

I could not be shaken. The Oh, We made it through chapter 12, the first chapter of Christ's sermon at the temple. And how does it feel to be perfect?

Not that we've arrived there yet,

but now we know the trajectory and aim that we need to be headed towards.

I would that he should be perfect even as I and your father who is in heaven is perfect.

And crescendoing up the beatitudes, turning outward so that we can salt and light the world,

raising the bar or coming into the center lane of the

Celestial Straight and Narrow, allowing old things to be fulfilled as all things

become new, we're on the path, but we're not done yet. As I mentioned last time, the first chapter

of the sermon at the temple gets us to that perfection, or at least points us in the direction. Perfection

pending, right? The next chapter, chapter 13, is meant to help us perfect

our motives because we can be doing all the right things for all the wrong reasons. And this chapter

helps wean us off of ourselves, the pride that often goes along with striving for perfection.

And the first eight verses of chapter 13 emphasize doing things for the right reasons.

And the Lord asks us to ponder the why of our service in the first 8 verses of chapter 13

by putting before us the who of service, namely who are we doing it for or who do we hope will see us as we do it.

He focuses on three different actions that we do frequently.

Alms or giving to the poor, prayer and fasting. I love the fact that he chooses
