new French budget. France will significantly lower subsidies for EV purchases,

adjusting the incentives from between 4 and 7,000 euros down to 2 to 4,000 euros. Now that

old window of 4 to 7,000 euros now going to 2 to 4,000 euros is based on income levels. According to a

government source, this change is part on income levels. According to a government source,

this change is part of broader efforts to decrease public spending and address a large

deficit in the state budget. The reduction poses additional challenges for carmakers who are

already experiencing a lower demand in France for EVs. A government official saying, and I quote,

the government remains firmly committed to the electrification of light vehicles,

but the budgetary context is extremely constrained, end quote.

The government plans to limit total public aid for vehicle electrification to about one billion euros. That's about 1.05 billion US

dollars in 2025 down from 1.5 billion euros this year. About 70% of the new budget will go to

purchase bonuses while the remaining funds will support commercial vehicles and the social

leasing program for low-income households,

which has been very popular in France and doing a great job.
