We started It's the Real in 2007, 13 years ago.

We've been in the hip-hop circles, the hip-hop world, the hip-hop culture for that entire time, two feet down, good times and bad.

We love this culture and we acknowledge that this culture is one that was created by African-Americans

that has allowed us to operate and thrive in these circles.

And in these times now, it is never more important to amplify black voices, to put on for

black people, and to make the black pain our pain to make the black fight our fight

and to make the black voice one that we can stand up and amplify.

So that is what we continue to do.

One of the first people who ever co-signed us, who allowed us to be in this world and looked out for us was Bun B. That has happened time and time again. He is a close friend of ours. He's somebody that we care for a great deal.

You know, here's somebody who

was on the front lines in Minnesota and marched with George Floyd's family in Houston. And

at an especially dark time, you know, it's always been a dark time, but this is an especially

dark one. I think that it was important for us to hear how

Bun is doing, just on a very basic level, but also how he moves forward, how he feels on a day-to-day

basis, you know, how he operates and how he thinks that others should. And so I think that it was just really important to check in with him.
