Summary

FBI Director Christopher Wray recently announced he will resign from his position in January 2025. Two highlights of my post-FBI retirement career producing and hosting FBI Retired Case File Review are speaking one on one with Director Wray for the celebration of the 300th episode of FBI Retired Case File Review and having the honor of sitting next to him at the 2021 FBIAA G-Man Honors awards dinner. I’m reposting my interview with Director Wray to recognize his years of service to our government, seven as the director of the FBI. After the interview, I share my thoughts about the future of the FBI, and retired agent Jerome Lorrain reads his FBI director qualifications wish list.

1:05.5	the country, shows his fidelity. By visiting each division at least two, if not three times,
1:13.5	he demonstrated to his employees that he saw them. He recognized their commitment to the mission
1:20.2	and to the personal sacrifices they made to get the job done. His decision to sign off on investigations, searches, and arrest
1:31.1	based on fact-based evidence, even though he knew it could lead to unfair claims of bias and
1:38.5	possible dismissal from his position, highlight his bravery. His determined leadership in the face of criticism,
1:47.3	especially from former and retired agents, confirmed his integrity. During Director Ray's recent
1:54.6	All-Employee Town Hall, where he announced he would step down, he told employees, I'm honored and humbled to serve alongside
2:03.6	you. And doing it all these years has been the greatest privilege of my life. For me, it's always been
2:10.5	about the people, all of you, the partners we do the work with, and the American people, the ones we do
2:17.0	the work for.
2:18.1	Director Ray ended his remarks by saying, remember that you chose and earned this job.
2:25.3	You chose and earned the privilege of serving your country.
2:29.1	As we move into our next chapter, let's stay focused Heads up, eyes forward, and shoulder to shoulder.
