build a life around the things that you truly care about. And when we talked earlier about me stepping

off this path that I was walking down, a big reason that I did that was because I recognize that

the scoreboard, the default scoreboard that we all embrace of measuring ourselves on the basis

of money was broken. Money isn't nothing. It simply can't be the only thing. It is kind of a tool,

but not the goal. It is one piece of a wealthy life, but it is not the entirety. And you need to

create a new scoreboard. You need to measure yourself across the broader war that you were

trying to win in life, if you will. If you only measure for this one battle of making money, you may win that battle, but you are very

likely going to lose the broader war, which is all about your actual happiness and fulfillment

as a human being.

And so the book is a guide to doing that, to asking the right questions, to measuring the

right things across this broader set of pillars that contribute to a wealthy life.
