Daniel is with burnt timber outfitters out of Heber, Arizona. Daniel's been on the podcast a bunch before him and his partner Mike Hancock run burnt timber outfitters.

And they've just coming off an awesome mule deer season and had some good success on the elk.

Daniel, I'm anxious to talk to you today. How you doing?

Doing good, man, you? Good. I don't care what I called your guide service in the intro right

doesn't matter trust that we've been Gold Wars.

Burnt timber outfitters, you guys primarily focus there in that Heber, Unit 1, Unit 23, Unit 3C, but you you know if you had to say that 3C units kind of you guys is bread and butter

would you not? Yeah I mean it's it's you know it's the unit that we live in. It's what we grew up hunting.

So yeah, we definitely favor it a little bit. You know, we know it like the back of our hands and yeah definitely

when we spend the most time in.

Last time we talked I believe was just before elk season and things were getting

started and you kind of gave us a rundown on conditions and what have you how would you

say overall the elk season both the archery elk season and the early rifle hunt were this year for you on on an overall basis and then maybe kind of break down and tell me about the hunts and the success that you guys had.

You know, overall it was a little bit of a weird year

We had pretty high hopes going into this year and I wouldn't say that those hopes were diminished in any way, shape, or form by the time the

hunt started.

We had some really good clients this year, not that we don't, you know, other years, but for some reason this year they seem to stand out.

The archery hunt, it started out about the way I anticipated.

The Reading activity was really good.

Bulls were starting to do their thing, they were mixing it with cows, and for

one reason or another it just seemed like they kind of stalled out. The general consensus that we were getting, you know, in the

unit and in other units is they just, for some reason the rut just didn't it just didn't click it didn't explode and it
