0:00.0	Hello everyone. I am sitting here in Florida in the house of the legendary Degrade family of Dirtpoor Robbins fame.
0:08.2	And last night, yesterday with the Degrade family, we went to see Snow White. And we went to see Snow White so that you don't have to see it.
0:17.3	You know, I felt like I had to see it. Also, there are several people that have asked me to
0:21.5	talk about it. You know, there's a journalist who wants to talk to me about the movie. So I said,
0:25.3	look, you know, there is a relationship between this movie coming out and the books that we
0:31.1	tried to put out in the sense that I knew that Disney could not tell this story when I heard
0:36.2	about the fact that they were making a new version of it.
0:39.3	And so, and they did not disappoint.
0:41.7	They really no longer are allowed to tell this story.
0:45.2	And so what I'd like to do with you is, you know, this will be full of spoilers.
0:49.3	So, you know, obviously it's not like there's anything that magical to spoil.
0:53.7	But I'm going to go through the way that they tell the story.
0:56.2	And then we're going to analyze it in relationship to the original Snow White, to the original movie.
1:00.3	And we're going to show, you know, why they made certain decisions and what it is that those decisions mean.

And so the first thing to say is I went in there, I'll, I'll be honest with you, I went in there and I said, look, I pretty much know I'm not going to like this movie, but I'm going to be, I'm going to try to be as generous as possible. I'm going to try to,
1:51.4	you know, take in what they're giving me and try to give it the most generous possible interpretation.
1:57.8	And so the first thing to say about the way that the movie structured is clear that they have fiddled with this movie over and over and over. So what it feels like when you're
2:01.9	watching it is that there are actually two movies, at least two movies that are smashed together
2:07.0	in ways that don't completely make sense. There is what looks like the original version that they
2:13.9	tried to retell, which is more political, which is more revolutionary in its structure,
2:18.9	and then they tried to overlay or to make it fit with a more nostalgic reinterpretation of the
2:27.4	original Disney story. And so because of that, it feels very disjuncted and it's hard to
