In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, we are continuing our conversation with Stephen Mills about his experience surviving child sex abuse and his tireless fight to prevent more children from being harmed by those who are meant to care for them.

| 1:11.0 | So we're so happy to have you back with us. And when we left off last episode, you were talking about how organizations like the Jewish organization that ran the camp that you were at, |
| 1:24.0 | as well as the Catholic organization that ran the camp that I was at, they respond with these disgusting legal tactics. |
| 1:33.0 | Yeah, that's right. And you know, think back to what I said when we first began talking about, you know, when I was growing up these organizations, |
| 1:42.0 | and for my family, they were the holders of Jewish moral values. You know, they were who we looked to from moral values that and our local synagogue, of course. |
| 1:53.0 | And so, you know, I really believed in my heart of hearts that these organizations would never turn their back on me or any other victim. |
| 2:03.0 | I just, it wasn't in my consciousness that they could do that. That's how attached I was to them, you know, as a kid and clearly even as an adult. |
| 2:13.0 | And, you know, I filed a claim under the New York State Child Victims Act against the two organizations that own and ran a camp, a LaFos where I went to camp. |
| 2:24.0 | These two groups are UJA Federation of New York and the Bronx Riverdale YMHA, which I, as I said earlier, is the Young Men's Hebrew Association. |
| 2:33.0 | And, you know, my claim is that there's a wealth of evidence we're presenting that these two organizations knew that Daniel Farnall opposed to danger to children, but did nothing to stop him. |
| 2:45.0 | And any case like this is really a golden opportunity for institutions to find out what went wrong and apply the lessons learned to make kids safer today. |
