I was thinking as you were talking of Jonah,

we all know the story of how he runs from God and ends up on a boat and God sends a storm

and the sailors on the boat are trying to figure out whose fault the storm is.

And they find Jonah sleeping in.

They ask him who he is.

And I think this is very, this statement is very interesting.

He says, I'm Hebrew.

I fear the Lord, the God of heaven.

And I'm thinking, well, you got no fear of God at all in your life.

You just shook your fist in his face and ran from him.

And it's very clear that is a cultural confession he's making that isn't depicted in his own life.

And then I love where the story goes because it's just the patience of God's grace.

Maybe one of my favorite verses in all of the Bible is the first verse

of Jonah 3, where it says, and the word of the Lord came once again to Jonah, and he sent

him.
