For the Christian community, I mean, true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, why doesn't identity in Christ?

Identity is a child of God, just overwhelm all of that other identity stuff.

Man, I think there's a lot to say there. And, you know, I just read, I just read in some private

scripture reading recently. You know, Jesus said,

Jesus is asking a group, you know, one man owed this amount of money to his, to his boss,

another man owed quite a bit more money to his boss. The boss forgave the debt of both.

Who's going to love him more? And then people said, well, the one who had the larger debt.

Oh, it's the woman, the woman who comes in and wipes Jesus' feet with her hair. And he says, he's forgiven much, loves much.

I think that one dynamic that's at work here

in terms of why we don't feel a greater sense of solidarity

and a greater sense of identity in the gospel

is that often we've just forgotten how much we've been forgiven.

We've just forgotten how much mercy the Lord has shown us in calling us his own.

And part of that is cultural.

Part of that is just we've kind of banished the idea of sin from our cultural lexicon.

And so the air we breathe, you know, the air, the spiritual air quality index of our society is one in which we turn, we turns, we always turn sin into kind of therapeutic categories.

And so we lose a sense of how much we've been forgiven.
