And so we want to put the person and work of Jesus Christ central because you understand who you are in Christ,

you understand what you've been given in Christ, and it changes the way you matriculate through

these essential relationships of everyday life like marriage. We're going to say a lot more

about that. Now, the danger is

that you turn the Bible into a set of wisdom principles that don't need a Redeemer. And that's not what the Bible is.

And when you do that, you asked the law to do what only grace can accomplish.

Listen, if all we needed was a set of wisdom principles that would correct our thinking, correct our desires, correct our

behavior.

If that's all we needed, Jesus wouldn't have had to come.

And so we want to steer away from saying the way to help a couple in their marriage is just this. You tell them all the

things they were doing wrong, and you tell them all the things to do right, and you send them

on their way. And so Paul wants to make sure that we understand the Bible is literally a book about one person

and his name is Jesus.

And what I want to do is teach people how to look at life from that vantage point. What does it look like? To live as a

neighbor, to live as a citizen, to live as a worker, to live as a husband and wife, to live
