Well, one of the things I think we've lost in today's culture is the ability to agree

When we face challenges or losses, when we experience the death of a loved one, maybe

a hard disappointment, I think we often forget the importance of facing our sadness and

hurt.

I know I have a tendency to do that.

You know as Christians, it can be tempting to think that we're just supposed to put

on a happy face and move on.

But Jesus did not take that approach.

I love that the scripture says that he wept, even when he knew that joy was coming.

And he actually called blessed or really happy people who mourn.

Now if our Savior highlighted the importance of grieving and if he wasn't ashamed to bring

his tears before his father, it might be more important than we realize for us to observe

and embrace grief in our lives and with the people around us.

As the scripture says, we're supposed to weep with those who weep.
