Hello and welcome to choose a fight today on the show we have community members Joel and Emily Allen and this should be a really good one they have so much to their story that I almost don't even know where to start it's a little bit of everything they found choose a five four years ago they were on the Dave Ramsey plan they paid off all their

debt which is remarkable and then it was what do we do now and they found

choose a fly they found the fight community and they just ran with it and they were

already doing really well financially and then these changes at the margin just help them in so many

ways from maxing our retirement accounts, buying the first rental house, travel hacking, racking

up millions of points, driving use cars, side hustles, all of these things.

And then some interesting things about college hacking and tax optimization.

And then it morphs into an entire story about lifestyle design and them taking a year to essentially

travel the world with their family.

And that was the plan though of course just like all life, take a turn but it's a story then of

community and how community helps this literally encapsulates everything we've

talked about for seven years here at Ch If I in one family story.

So, okay, there's almost too much as evidenced by my intro, but let's start from your origin story with personal finance. So it sounds like you found Dave Ramsey first, and that got you on a laser focus plan to pay off debt.

Yeah, it started in our first year of marriage. We were a couple of kids that had about

$150,000 were the student loans and we didn't have a plan or know how to really
