I'm very honored to be here. Thank you. What a pity we weren't recording for the last five minutes.

We've got a lot of things to talk about today in the world of politics, but we usually have a little bit of chit-chat at the beginning.

And you and I have both just agreed that we do not wish to become one of these people of a certain age who just talk about their health.

But how is your health?

Well, I was just saying to somebody the other day as well as losing my seat.

I've become a fallen woman.

Not for the first time.

Let's face it.

So I had an accident.

I was walking along the street in Edinburgh about a month ago and I tripped on a bit of uneven pavement, sprained my ankle, sort of twisted my ankle and fell very heavily on my left shoulder.

And initially I was very obsessed with my ankle because it was very swollen. But a friend of mine, Rona Hotchkitts,

who used to be a nurse, she came around to see me. And she said, I think your ankle's all right,

but I think you've broken your shoulder. And she turned out to be correct. And so I had x-rayed. Initially they thought it was all right. And then a surgeon

looked at it and said, oh, it's so bad, I could put a screw in plates in it, but it's such a bad

fracture I want to replace the whole thing. That was exactly what the surgeon said to me when I
