Hello and welcome back to Mormon Stories Podcast. I'm your host John DeLin.

I believe we're in part four now of our interview with Brent Metcalf. Again,

it's September 11, 2014. It's late in the evening for Brent on the East Coast and

he's also been suffering from a flu so his voice is raspy but he's he's hanging

in there. So last hour we talked about Brent's the aftermath of the Hoffman

Affair. We talked about his work on a book called New Approaches to the Book of

Mormon I believe it's called and and then we talked about his disciplinary

counsel and the ultimate communication. This this hour we're going to talk about

primarily two main topics. Basically we're going to talk about Brent's

perspective as as a textual historian or critic however you might want to refer

to him. His perspective after literally decades of a very intense scrutiny and

analysis of of the Book of Mormon text and the Book of Abraham text his view on

the primary challenges of what we might call traditional approaches to these
