Hey, everyone. I hope we've had a great start tier 2025. I'm super psyched to be here

covering this new era of American politics with the coming of the second Trump administration.

With that in mind, today's guest is making a return appearance. Julius Crian is the

founder and editor of American Affairs, easily one of the best publications that came out of the 2016

moment when American politics shifted with Trump's first victory. We are discussing a new

organization he's a part of the new American Industrial Alliance, which is focused on this big

question of how can the United States have a techno-industrial revolution and bring manufacturing

back? Ever since Trump's win in 2016, the first Trump administration, the Biden administration,

now the second Trump administration, have centered so much of their approach and focus around

this question of manufacturing.

The first Trump administration focused on tariffs and trade, the Biden administration passed

big legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act and the Chips Act to spur investment

in these categories.

And now of this second Trump administration, we're going to see a focus on deregulation and

capital deployment as being the prime means of getting this done in the

first place. So Joyce is the perfect person to speak to not only how the administration's approaches

have or have not worked, but how the private sector itself will play a big role here. We, of course,

are going to cover at the end of the show, the current political scene and what we can take away

from the 2024 election and the ending
