there's a saying that if you want a new idea, you should read history. The concept being that almost

everything we consider innovative or breakthrough is actually a rehash of something from the past.

This is true, maybe 95% of the time, but for that very small but important minority, that 5% of

the time, the challenges that we're trying to figure out in our families, in our work, in our

society, the old thinking, the thinking, the thought process that got us to where we are is probably

not going to be the solution that moves things forward. In fact, what if the entire way in which

we're thinking about the problem is wrong and what if the solutions were easy and obvious and simple

and maybe even free or low cost on this week's podcast will be exploring lateral thinking.
