So many people feel that they're premature aging, this idea of them looking older than they feel like they should, is all related to bad genetics.

0:13.2

But one of my favorite newsletters that you wrote was you talked about six things in particular that have strong evidence around them that are actually connected

0:22.9

to premature aging and getting older.

0:26.0

Essentially, you found that your diet done the wrong way could make you look older than

0:33.3

you need to look.

0:35.1

So I want to talk about some of those things, starting off with the first

0:38.0

big one, which you've written about multiple times, and it's the role of inflammation when

0:44.3

it comes to aging. Can you talk about that? Inflammation is exactly the root cause of actually

0:49.6

aging. You can modify this by doing different things in your life. So you have to think about your

0:55.0

lifestyle a lot. Inflammation happens no matter what. So we will all age. We cannot go backwards yet

1:00.8

at least. It might be in the future, but right now we can't. But we can slow it down. So less

1:07.2

inflammation means that we also age slower. If we can change that in our epigenetics, so this is about how we can make our genes healthier,

1:17.5

or we can make them a better function, then we can help our body to live longer, our cells

1:22.8

live longer.

1:23.9

So inflammation is actually this natural response in the body. We need to have inflammation because

1:30.1

it fights off viruses and it fights off all the bad things that comes to our bodies. We need

1:34.9

the inflammation process to happen. So it's natural. But we don't want it to be chronic. And when

1:39.9

it becomes chronic, it increases the risk of disease. So we want to have a balance in that.

1:45.4

So inflammation is healthy and natural, but we don't want it to be too much. And where it happens,

1:51.2

it's too much is when we, for example, speed up the process when we have on healthy diet.

1:57.6

And we're going to go into what is exactly that. But also how we behave.

2:03.5

So it could also be that we move less. So if we exercise or whatever we do. So our behavior can
