Today we challenge the typical understanding of the voice of Isaiah, taking a look at the

servant discourse in chapters 40 through 54. Yeah. Third Isaiah. Third Isaiah. Third Isaiah.

Third of four Isaiah. Third of four. We'll be talking about this time around.

Talked about two. So I'm completely in the dark at this point because every past time I've been

through your class, there have only been three Isaiah. I know. Breaking new ground. Breaking new

Baymont ground. I'm excited to see what happens. Yeah. No, I continue to study this stuff and

especially just reading through some of, I think it began as I read through Walter Bougamins

out of Babylon and just the more I look at different notes and articles and different things

like that. And the more I just look at Isaiah itself, I'm sold. I'm sold on a fourth voice.

And we'll talk more about that in the next podcast. We're going to talk about fourth Isaiah.

We're going to kind of mess up our table. We give a table back when we began with the prophets.

And I'm going to kind of mess up the order, but it's okay. We are wrapping up the

exilic prophets today. And I definitely have started distinguishing between third Isaiah and

fourth Isaiah. So you already said it in the intro, but third Isaiah, I'm going to call chapters 40

through 54, 40 through 54. And we already recommended it, but throw it out there again.

Once we get into this period of discussion, this is where I would really recommend a book like

out of Babylon by Walter Bougamins. We'll put that in the show notes. But I had some, I've had

some listeners get the book and try to read it. And they were like, oh my goodness, this is so

heavy and academic. And that is okay, but a fair warning out there. It's not light reading.

But it's just super good from somebody who's a scholar and a thinker and has written about this

period of prophetic history. That book was just super good. And we'll play a big part at the
