Wildfires in Los Angeles continue to rage on, and now the National Guard is on the scene.

Fox's Christina Coleman reports from Altadena.

There are guardsmen all around this area.

They are working hard to support local law enforcement as they try to protect these areas and keep people away from all of this area. They are working hard to support local law enforcement as they try to

ago, there were so many families. There was so much life here. Now, the National Guard,

they've got Humvees positioned at major intersections. They're working nonstop around the clock,

rotating in soldiers at these locations to stop people from going into the houses and businesses that have been destroyed.

They want to prevent people from looting and keep folks away from down to power lines and gas leaks, very dangerous situations.

And they say they know that a lot of people are coming through here.

They want badly to get back into this area.

They want to check on their homes, but they are urging people to please give them patience.

And a curfew is in place from six at night till six in the morning for evacuated areas.

Meanwhile, California Congressman Ami Bera tells Fox News Live that it's time for Congress to overhaul the way federal aid is doled out during disasters like the wildfires.

These events are becoming more and more frequent, not just in California, but across this country.

So we may have to come up with a better system because we can't allocate hundreds of billions of dollars every year and expect these

things to be unexpected because they're now happening with regularity.

And damage estimates from the wildfires range from $50 billion to as much as $135 billion.
