Hi this is Steve so as you know normally we preview each week's show on Tuesday

so all of you get a chance to check out the film before we release the podcast on

Friday but this time we're doing it a little different because next week's movie is actually playing in theaters this weekend

And we wanted to give all of you a heads up before it's too late

The film is the original Planet of the Apes, Staring Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowell, Kim Hunter, and Morris Evans.

I got to tell you, this is one of my all-time favorites.

It's directed by Frank Schaffner, who went on to direct Patton, and is written by the great Rod

Serling and Michael Wilson, who also wrote Bridge on the River Quai in Lawrence of Arabia

while on the Hollywood blacklist. It also features an absolutely groundbreaking score

by Jerry Goldsmith. The screenings are being presented by Turner Classic movies on

Sunday, July 24th at theaters all across the country.

This is one I've never seen on the big screen and I just can't wait to check it out.

So we've got High Noon this Friday and Planet of the Apes next week.
