Summary

Bruce Pardo gunned down his ex-wife’s family while wearing a Santa suit on Christmas Eve and burned their home down. 9 people died in the massacre. Pardo killed himself a few hours later in his brother’s home.

1:22.6	On Christmas Eve 2008, over two dozen people were celebrating the holiday at their home in Covina, California,
1:30.3	including their five adult children with their spouses and many grandchildren.
1:36.5	James and Charles were in their 50s and were the oldest of the Ortega siblings.
1:42.5	Alicia and Sylvia were in their 40s, and the youngest sibling,
1:46.7	Leticia, was in her 30s. Everyone called Joseph Ortega Papa Joe. Papa Joe loved playing cards,
1:56.5	and after dinner, the family had been engaged in a fierce game of Texas Holden.
2:02.7	Several of the grandchildren were outside in the backyard, playing video games by the pool,
2:08.7	except for 17-year-old Michael, who was on a computer in an upstairs bedroom of the house.
