Steve Sarkisian.

In the early 2000s, Steve's marriage was on the brink of divorce, and God used Paul during

his days as a biblical counselor to restore Steve's relationship to Gale.

Afterwards, Steve walked away from tens of millions of dollars in personal fortune, sold his Rolls-Royce,

and helped co-found Paul Tripp Ministries in 2006. This month's guest on the Connecting podcast

is our very own co-founder and vice president of Paul Tripp Ministries. You'll be blessed and

encouraged by his story of redemption. Here's Paul with Steve Sarkisian. Well, I want to spend a little time in the beginning

of the podcast talking a bit personally. La Wall and I had the privilege of going to Europe. I was

invited to speak at a gospel coalition conference in Geneva, and that was a wonderful experience.

The fellowship there was just beautiful.

But we had an opportunity to, after the conference, spent some time in old Geneva, or as it's

known as John Calvin's Geneva.

It was a very moving experience for me.

Calvin was born July 10th, 1509,

and yet there are few men in the church who have had more formative influence on my understanding of Christianity than John Calvin.

We were able to be at auditorial, Auditorial Calvin, where he lectured.

We sat for a while in Cathedral St. Pierre, where he preached,

and I stood between his chair and his pulpit. John Calvin wrote the Institutes of Christian Religion, a multi-volume statement of the Christian faith

at the age of 27, which is just amazing.
