This morning, the smell of smoke permeates the hills and the mountains and the surf and the ocean side, as you can hear it.

Another day of fighting very active fires here in Los Angeles.

About 10,000 homes and buildings have burned as five wildfires still rage.

Confirm 10 deaths now at this point.

Fox Weather's Robert Ray's among the ruins in Malibu.

All you see is crumbled and sideways tilted steel beams.

This is going to have to go as many of the homes and businesses up and down the PCH where I am

right now are destroyed. There are more firefighters trying to douse the flames, but a water

tanker aircraft. Key to the battle is grounded, damaged in a collision with a drone. Fox's Bill

Malutian reports from fire ravaged Pacific Palisades. I cannot stress to you how crucial these aircraft are.

L.A. County leases them from Canada every year.

There's only two of them.

They're the aircraft you see dipping into the Pacific Ocean and making these drops.

They can drop six tons of water at each time.

They are a massive help.

A winter storm across the south has canceled more than

2,000 flights today. Many to and from Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, and Nashville, Fox Weather's,

Michael Estimates, and Memphis. A couple of our forecast models saying that we could pick up

closer to about eight inches of snow. That would be a ton for Memphis. Parts of Texas got nearly

a foot of snow.
