Vice President Harris opened her remarks at the annual commemoration of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama by saying it's time for the violence to end and hostages in Gaza to be released.

The Vice President said there is a deal to stop the shelling on the table.

Hamas needs to agree to that deal.

Let's get a ceasefire.

Let's reunite the hostages with their families.

And let's provide immediate relief to the people of Gaza.

Vice President Harris reiterated U.S. support for Israel's self-defense against Hamas,

but also urged the Israeli government to increase the flow of aid to the people of

Gaza.
