going to we got a presentation. We got some pictures. We've talked about Hellenism and these we've

been going through. We introduced Hellenism as this idea that the Greeks brought a whole new

world view that had moved the gods out of the center of the world view and replaced it with

man. Man was the measure of all things. They had built a culture around education and

competition, theater and arena, gymnasium, a sqlopian, the hospital, healthcare. They had built a

world that was meant to serve man and their own interests. A world of really empire, like a world

of self preservation. Then Judaism had to figure out how they responded to this. We introduced

ourselves to all five world views and then we're going through each one of them podcast by podcast.

We've talked about Sadducees being this corrupt religious establishment, like a corrupt

temple mafia system that had been ordained by God but was obviously totally corrupt. We talked

about the Herodians which were they wanted to embrace Hellenism. They loved what the Roman Hellenistic

world brought them and that meant that they were perfectly placed for God's mission because that's

the exact world that God wants to redeem but they were also struggling with idolatry. We have the

world of the Essens who went off into the desert to become people who knew the text and walked the
