One of the things that I've endeavored to do in my life is be better at counting my blessings and numbering my complaints.

And I find that to be a bit of a spiritual war, that it's so easy to complain about all the little incident to hardships of life in a world that

doesn't function the way God originally intended.

And I want to be good at just seeing God's gifts of blessing that are all over my life.

And yesterday was really one of those days.

I was able to spend the day with people that I love and appreciate and respect who God is used

in my life and it was just a day of real blessing. And one of those people is my guest today on this podcast. It's Sam Albury. I was thinking as I spent

yesterday with Sam and Ray Ortland that it's moments like they both live in Nashville. It's days like

that which make me wish I lived in Nashville. So I could be closer to

these guys and take in more of what they have to offer. I do believe that by God's right and good

plan, I'm meant to live in Philadelphia, so I'm okay with that, but

it was a very good day. So Sam Albury is a writer and a pastor, and I'm blessed to consider

him a friend, and he's written a wonderful book about what I think is a critical doctrine of the Christian life that

A, I don't think gets the play that it should get, the attention that it should get, and B, is

often not understood for its fullness.
