I also want to thank Latherpin Suns. They're a custom boot system and custom footbed manufacturer. These guys are the boot doctors, the boot gurus. They're very, very helpful. They know a lot about boots. I have switched this season to the Latherpin Suns in Compass Boot. That's what I've worn primarily on my coos deer and mule deer hunts in Mexico.

Then I use the mountain hunter for my sheep hunts, specifically desert sheep. Any of that's more technical terrain. Latherpin Suns has a phenomenal 3D mapping imprints and tracing kit. They make custom orthotics. Just really, really comfortable. Very user friendly boots and custom insoles.

Guys, welcome to the jscodoutdoors podcast. Today I've got my friend Parker Fails of Clay Bundy Outfitters on the line. Parker, how are you doing?

3:59.0

Doing awesome, Jay. Doing awesome, and I appreciate the opportunity to be on the phone with you. Always good to visit with you.

4:05.0

Yeah, for sure. We've had these podcasts before talking about these Arizona deer and sheep deadlines coming up. We have one coming up, I believe, here June 6th on Tuesday.

4:18.0

Normally, we're doing this podcast, and we're a little bit wondering about moisture. We're wondering what type of year it's going to be, and then we've had some of these podcasts where it's been bone dry, and there's not much optimism.

4:34.0

I've got to think that this conversation is probably going to go a little bit differently this year. What is the forecast and on the ground report right now from what you can see from the moisture there that we've had over the winter and over this spring? How are things looking out there on the Arizona Strip?

4:54.0

Oh, this is the kind of year we dream of, and the kind of year that makes business good and easier for us.

5:03.0

Man, we're just looking at our chops. It was a really wet winter, and even before that we had a really wet monsoon last year that was record-setting monsoon for us, and everything was just green and beautiful, and then add that on top of a wet winter.

5:22.0

And then we've had some early monsoons already up here this last like the last three weeks. We've been getting storms here and there, and then so for us it's just everything stacking up to make it special.

5:38.0

Parker, you know, Clay is out on the strip right now. I talked to you earlier, and you said he's out there bouncing around, and he's out there literally lives out there every day.

5:50.0

You obviously spend a bunch of time out there, but what are you guys saying as far as years? Can you even compare what we potentially are facing as far as moisture years?

6:04.0

Look, is it a 2010, like what year can you compare to, or is this in your opinion potentially going to be, you know, just a world beater and something totally different that, you know, for years to come we might be talking about, you know, 2023.

6:20.0

Yeah, so the one I can really think of that it compares to me that is like the most relevant is kind of 2019, so like in 2018 we had a really wet monsoon that came in light, and had a great winter, and then got excellent moisture in May, and the May and June is so critical.
