Guys welcome to the J-Scott Outdoors podcast today. I've got my friend Brian Rimson. We're gonna break down

0:07.4

sheep units in Arizona. Brian, how you doing?

0:10.9

I'm good, Jay. How are you?

0:12.9

Good. I've been getting a lot of requests. I know I'm a little late getting this podcast out, but I appreciate you

0:19.3

fit me into your schedule. I know you're busy.

0:22.6

We've got the deadline coming up June 6th

0:26.5

Tuesday for Arizona, and we've got the deer and big horn sheep, both desert and rocky in the state of Arizona, and

0:35.8

I'm looking forward to kind of breaking this down. You do a really good job with all the stats. You had sent me some

0:42.9

attachments and some different documents where you've kind of broken things down, which is great. You always

0:47.9

you always kind of tickle into the numbers a little bit there and

0:51.9

we might as well just dive right into it.

0:54.8

Yeah, sounds good now. We can definitely do that. So tell us what's going on new in 2023 there with the regulations.

1:03.0

I think the biggest thing, you know, for Arizona, which I've never seen in my lifetime is that there's a

1:09.0

overall 16 tag increase for sheep in Arizona. So we went from 140 last year to 156 tags this year

1:17.8

17. There's a 17 tag increase for desert sheep bringing us to 137 and

1:22.8

there's a one tag decrease in rock these dropments down to 19. So that's a pretty substantial

1:30.2

increase and I think the biggest most notable thing is for, you know, non-residents is that there are

1:37.0

numerous additional multi-tag units and then there's some other

1:42.3

added seasons where they split some seasons and stuff like that, but they increased overall tags. I think, you know, the most notable thing for non-resonances is that

1:52.6

in them, you're going to have 43 a 15b west and 15c north. I think I'm the three units that are accessible to you now that we're not accessible to you before

2:01.8

12b east is added a third season 28 south is added a second season and all of the 40b units have added a second season

2:09.6

41 west out of the second season and then 43b split to two seasons this year last year wasn't one season with eight tags this year
