0:33.6	It's Monday, January 20th, and we are back. Obviously, I think we'll have more on Thursday covering the inauguration of the Second Trump Imperium. But today, we're joined by our friend Muhammad al-Safin to talk about what we saw happen over the last weeks and this weekend, which is the

1:04.2	most important thing going on in the world right now. But just to begin, Muhammad, what can you
1:08.4	tell us about what, like, what is the outline of this temporary
1:12.0	ceasefire and how much, if at all, does it differ from the various ceasefires that have been
1:17.7	talked about and teased for the last couple months? And why do you think this happened now?
1:23.5	Well, those are a lot of questions, but I think the most important thing is to say that
1:27.0	the most important thing happening is actually Melania Trump's hat. So I take exception with you, characterizing this is somehow of more interest to the world. To answer the question about what is different about this one than the others that have been teased over the last year and a half, not much apparently.
1:45.8	We know, for example, that it's very similar to the deal that Joe Biden put forward in May,
1:54.2	last May, that Hamas accepted, publicly accepted, and that was rat and by the United Nations Security Council before
2:02.3	Netanyahu reneged on it. And rather than punish him, Joe Biden supplied him with billions
2:09.7	of dollars more in weapons. What was interesting for me was that the day after the ceasefire was
2:16.8	signed last week, the Qatari
2:19.2	Prime Minister. And caveat, obviously, I work for an organization that is financed by the
2:25.2	Qatari government, but the Qatari government has also been the main mediator between Hamas
2:28.7	and Israel throughout this war. And what the Qatari Prime Minister said was the deal was actually the framework of the deal
2:35.9	was essentially the same as one that had been put forward in December 2023.
2:41.5	So a full 13 months ago.
2:44.6	And he said the minor details where it differs, the minor details where this deal differs from
