In this episode, it's a welcome return to BBC producer Nelson Kumar. Hello. Hello, how are you, Chris? It's been a while. It has been a while. Yeah. Last time we were in the middle of a global pandemic, aren't we? I remember. We were, yep. I was locked away in one room working all day, managed to move myself to another room to make the recording. It seems like a long time away, doesn't it? And not much has changed in the world.

What did you think of that?

Well, you know, talking about COVID, just said, I think, you know, without trying to downplay it,

I think the one good thing about what's happened in the last few years is that Peter

Jackson had extra time to give us more of what we've got. And I mean, there's not much else you

can say other than it's just brilliant. It's brilliant. And, you know, I've read reviews which

said, oh, there's too much it's too long and I'm

sure like you and many other Beatles fans I think there's probably not enough I could have probably

I think you're one of people I think who's been through all the nagra tapes the 60 hours you've

heard all of them I mean I could I haven't bit that, but I could definitely take more of what I saw.

I mean, I was just watching back some of it just before we came to do this. And I just found

myself just smiling. I just smiled at so much of it because I never thought we'd see it.

You know, you've heard over the years, you hear little snippets of stuff in the studio and to be

honest most of it's the early years when you know when they're a guitar band as it were and

and you just hear things you think brilliant brilliant and then you read stories about some of the

things that went on in the studio but there it is it's there it's actually there it's like they're

almost not real those those four men and the ensemble around them

um i love it you know it took me back especially the opening as well took me back to

1995 and when i first saw the anthology and i first first got into the beetles and it mad you know
