On August 31st, 1983, 15-year-old Kyle Strachner left his home in Fairfield, California, to go hang out with a friend of his.

His mother, 40-year-old Priscilla Stroll, said her goodbyes and remained home alone.

When Kyle returned around 9.45 p.m., 15 minutes before his curfew, he knocked on the door to be let inside and received no answer.

Wondering where his mother was, Kyle peeked into the window and there, lying on the living room floor, was his mother's naked body.

Worried that she may have fallen down or gotten sick, Kyle climbed through a window and rushed

to his mother's side.

It was then that he saw the brutal beating that she had suffered and that she was no longer

breathing.

He ran to a neighbor's home to call police.
