We build the Scotland Outdoors podcast from the live programme we do for BBC Radio Scotland,

which is called Out of

Doors. This week, two main themes, I would say, climate change and Halloween.

It's actually a bit hazy in my memory, but about, I think, about 40 years ago, they

experimented with putting foam down on runways for when planes had problems with their undercarriage.

And the idea was that, you know, basically they would kind of slide along the foam and the foam would drag them down and there would be no sparks.

That effectively happened to me coming into work this morning.

Came round the corner on one of the back roads coming into Aberdeen and there was the most

enormous puddle where there isn't normally a puddle. That's the bizarre bit about it. There isn't

normally a puddle there and I hit it and the car more or less stopped dead. There's a lot of road
