with digital signatures, and with electronic money.

We know that someone has to write software to defend privacy,

and since we can't get privacy unless we all do, we are going to write it.

Yeah, interesting that written in 1993 too.

It's like the cyberpunks really saw what was coming, I guess, just being that close to software,

I suppose.

They gained a deeper understanding of its disruptive potential.

And it's almost like we're living that out now, right?

The state is, the state is

struggling against software, right? Like what we sit here and we're mid April 2023 and is it the,

is it the restrict act? Is that what's being floated around the US right now to ban TikTok?

But yeah, they're trying to ban access to software, basically. And obviously,

that runs counter to the First Amendment in the United States, which is freedom of speech,

because to the author's point, software is just speech, right? It's just language running on a computer.
