Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

We are just three days away from leaving the European Union, aren't we?

It could all have been so simple, if only the Lib Dems, the Labour Party, the S&P, the Greens and the ERG

section of the Conservative Party had managed to find a way through the morass of regulation,

deregulation, red tape and bureaucracy. But they didn't, did they? If only Boris Johnson

hadn't promised to leave the EU come what may do or die, no matter what. But he

didn't, did he? If only the European Union hadn't said they would entertain an extension to the

date under which we leave, but they didn't do that either. So here we are. We've got a flex

extension, which sounds like something they sell in the back page of the Daily Express, until the

end of January. What that means is that the Parliament now has ample time to scrutinise the Brexit

withdrawal bill and arranged for a general election as well, all while getting out of the EU.

That should make you happy, shouldn't it? I wouldn't feel particularly happy, dear.
