Hello, my dear listeners, my dear friends.

I have been thinking about you every day, just about every hour for the last few weeks.

You fellow parents of beautiful trans kids, you beloved transgender friends of all ages,

and all you friends and allies helping to look after kids like mine.

If you're feeling like me, you're still a bit stunned and your heart is aching.

And your mind is a tangle of worries about the frightening and unfriendly future

promised by our newly elected president, a future that does not value or welcome people like us

and the people we cherish. For me and for many of you,

there are worries that are deeply personal and immediate.

How will we stay safe and keep our kids safe?

What is going to happen to us all? Some of you have moved or are trying to

to move or you can't move to somewhere safer. Some of you already live in a relatively safe place and I'm so glad you deserve that

safety. Some of you are wondering if there even is a safe place. Some of you are just hunkered down

and hiding and hoping.

And that may be the safest thing to do right now.

I wish I knew the magic words to comfort us all.

To promise a safe and just world for everyone.

And while I don't have those words today, I do know a few things, and I want to share them with you.

During this time of huge uncertainty, here is what I can tell you with wholehearted certainty.

I know that you are lovable and you are valuable and you are worthy.

If you are transgender, the world has been telling you otherwise lately and it could not

be more wrong.
