Depending on where you live, you may have noticed something especially cool in last night's sky.

On October 2nd, an annual solar eclipse passed over parts of the Pacific Ocean,

southern Chile, and Southern Argentina.

An annular eclipse is when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, but is too far from the

Earth to completely cover the sun. When this happens, you see the sun bend the moon, and it

leaves what looks like a ring of fire around the moon.
