I thought that my decision would have an impact in the people around me.

I believed in that but I never imagined that it would affect all the way to my family in Brazil.

My name is Marcos.

I serve on the worship team in Mosaic Venice.

I'm from Brazil.

I moved to LA a year and a half ago and moved here for a job in advertising.

So I grew up in a religious family, got baptized as a kid,

but I only really had my relationship with God and had an encounter with the creative of the universe when I was 15.

I always felt this need of making a decision of my own and owning that choice and taking that step and then I had a conversation with

Pastor Carlos he helped me understand that it's not just about me it's not about

what I need to do but it's about what I get to do.

So I'm getting baptized today because I get to bring all the people that are around me,

all the relationships that I have,

into the conversation that I'm having with God.

So it turned out that the date that was chosen ended up being the day after I was going to travel with my family.

Fast forward, we changed the flights and my family stayed in

LA with me and then I get a text from my dad. It was late at night and he said

hey let's get into the water together and I knew that I knew that God was working somehow

I thought it was just me getting baptized but now it's me it's my mom it's my brother and

my dad getting baptized here in Mosaic Venice. I would not be where I am today in terms of happiness and joy and peace.

If I didn't step into every challenge that this community has called me into.

I believe in mosaic because I found a community that is so relevant to this place
