Hello, I'm Mark Stephen.

I'm currently sitting in my back garden in North East. The sun is shining, is really quite pleasant. But it's not freezing, it's not broiling. I'm not terribly high off the ground and nor am I terribly deep. In fact, I've got a kettle 20 feet away. In short, where I am, is not terribly adventurous. Now, the idea of adventuring has taken on a

whole new meaning in recent months because of lockdown. We're forced into local adventures of a very

different kind. I mean, that's stuff like, you know, cycling up a track you've never been before,

or sleeping under the stars near back garden, or maybe swimming in the local beach at dawn.

Circumcribed, yes, but not without appeal.

Joining me now as a woman who always likes a bit of adventure, Helen Needham.

Hello, well, I feel like I've been adventuring in my own patch a lot more recently,

discovering new corners. I hadn't really taken the time to explore before the main difference

being I think that I've not been driving but walking and cycling and just seeing the world

differently as a result of that adventure is at the very core of our podcast guest today

adventures on a way bigger scale than I think either of us

have ever attempted. We're way, way beyond anything we've ever tried. Jenny Tuff, Ortooth,

is an adventurer, writer, award-winning filmmaker who's undertaken umpteen physical challenges around

the globe. Some of them in places that people just normally don't go, including a serious

world first, traversing solo the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
