Today, Axios' politics reporter Jonathan Swan spoke to Afghanistan's ambassador to the U.S., Adela Raus,

in an exclusive interview after the fall of Kabul.

She grapples with her role as an ambassador, essentially, without a state, and no real relationship

with the Biden administration.

Do you still believe in the United States?

Do you still trust the United States?

No.

Sorry. I, I trust and believe the people. I mean, I've lost some trust in the US policies, and I think probably

government policies, including my own leadership and government policies. And I'm reflecting and saying how effective I was or I was,

and I think it is a big question that I don't have the right type of answer.
