All right, folks. Alaska Moose 2022. Joe and I are laying here in a wet tent, and it is the

end of our hunting day number 8.

We found one other cool thing too, the bullet that Joe shot through both shoulders,

top of the vital cavity and through the spine was a

hundred and ninety grain Barnes L.R. X out of Barnes factory ammunition,

their long-range vortex load. That bullet performed absolutely perfectly and because it hit bone in three

areas, shoulder blade, spine, other shoulder blade, a whole lot of dense muscle along in there too. It came to rest against the hide

on the off side and is just picture perfect. Yep. The other shot we think quartered through him, but it wasn't, it might have one

lunged him a little bit or livered him.

Because he still had quite a bit of move in him, so he came quite a bit of move in him so he came quite a ways after that and then through the trees and then we we got him there so

Yeah, it appeared that Joe instead of centering that shoulder as he's cording to us for the longer shot,

probably had a little more wind drift than anticipated and just drifted behind the shoulder

and angled back through his body at that point.

Yeah.

We were really pleased with how he came down the mountain

and where he set up.

So it actually saved us probably an entire day of packing. He ended up covering some ground that

would have been very difficult to navigate quickly. A lot of moss, hummocks and

marshes and things like that that he was able to move through that and where he landed

we actually found a really nice trail up the gravel bottom and so yesterday we just

all day ferried back and forth, back and forth.

We had nice trails all the way down and back.
