0:00.0	Hello there, my name is Tyler Griffin and this is Scripture Study Insights by Scripture Central.
0:06.0	Today, Alma 43 through 52.
0:10.0	Now many of you, when you hear those particular chapters mentioned,
0:15.0	you think to yourself, oh no, the war chapters begin. The reality is that this book was written for
0:26.3	our day by a man, Mormon, who happened to be assigned as the chief captain of the armies
0:34.9	of the laymen, of the Nephites, when he was only 15 years old. And his whole
0:40.3	life from that point on was spent defending to one degree or another the people in a military
0:49.3	sense. So instead of being frustrated by the war and the contentions and the violent descriptions
0:59.4	going on here, perhaps we could step back from the page a foot or two and ponder the reality
1:08.5	that 2nd Nephi chapter 31 verse 3 teaches a powerful truth that is
1:19.2	now coming to into play this is Nephi speaking for the Lord God giveth light
1:25.4	unto the understanding for he speaketh unto men according to their
1:32.0	language and unto their understanding.
1:38.7	So it shouldn't shock us that there's so much warfare and so much description of this, these difficult settings
1:48.2	in the book Mormon. That's one of the ways that the Lord is communicating with the chief
1:53.6	editor of this record named Mormon, is through his own life experience and because of that
2:00.4	we can now liken all scriptures
2:03.6	unto us as Nephi invited back in 1st Nephi 19, verse 23, so that the scriptures can be
2:11.6	for our prophet and our learning. If we allow the Holy Ghost to fulfill his role as the ultimate teacher,
2:22.5	and if we go into these chapters with an open heart, a soft heart, and a mind that is
2:30.4	focused heavenward to say, teach me principles that would help me in my own life
2:37.7	today, because the reality is, as most of you didn't wake up this morning, worrying that
