I remember as a young father, I didn't like toys left out in the yard.

It was just something that, you know, just by appearance, you didn't want to see when you drove up in the yard.

You know, it just, it, it, I don't know.

I worked hard on my yard back when I was younger, grew flowers, those sorts of things.

And the idea that brightly, you know, colored plastic items were laying out in the yard is just

not something that I wanted to see and that I wanted others to see.

It gave me a feeling of disorder and that my yard was unkempt and that sort of thing.

But boy, how times have changed.

Now I'm a papal. I've got two beautiful grandchildren whom I love more than just about anything in the world, save Kimmy, of course.

And now, in my backyard, I have got toys spread about, big wheels, tricycles, plastic blocks.

I got everything.

My patio is literally covered with this stuff.

And I go sit in amongst it and play with my grandchildren. My granddaughter is always

cooking me imaginary meals. And of course, you know, they say the old adage. If a three-year-old

offers you an imaginary meal, you take it and you pretend you're going to eat it. But you know,

one of the things that's back there on my patio

is a beige with a gray roof plastic playhouse that extends out. And I think about all of the joy

that my grandbabies have had on it. Now, Harper, my granddaughter, she plays house inside of it,

but her brother, who is six,

climbs on top of it and jumps off like a madman. But yet, it's a place of joy.
