Hello, thank you so much for having me, Ryan.

It's such a pleasure.

Yeah, you know, since this is your first time on the show,

why don't you just start out by giving our listeners

a little bit about your background

and why you're running for Congress?

Absolutely.

Well, my name is Angelica Duenas. I am running for Congress in California's 29th Congressional District, which is in the San Fernando Valley. I am running because nobody else is.

We have a long-term career politician

that represents our district, Tony Cardenas.

He's been around since 1995, 1986 since I was in junior high.

He's been representing our community at all levels. He was Assemblyman for eight years,

Congress, Councilman, City assemblyman for eight years, councilman, city councilman for 10 years and now going on eight years in Congress and our community has zero to show for it.

And so here I am, I'm a mother, I am working class, I am one of those people that you know

talked about how you know somebody needs to do something about this and

somebody should do something about that and eventually you know we realize

amongst ourselves that we are somebody and that we are able to make these

changes happen and that we really can't depend on anyone to really come out of the

be our hero and come and save us. It's in our hands. And so here we are.
