News from the Field (2025) Part 2. The past excavation season has been extraordinarily productive. Beyond the new royal tomb of Thutmose II we also have a SECOND royal tomb, at Abydos! 0:36.6	After the discovery of the tomb of Tuttmos II in Luxor a few weeks ago,
0:41.3	it is time to catch up with other discoveries and projects taking place within Egypt.

0:51.9	Moving away from the tomb of Tudmos II, but staying in the Luxor region, we have several additional finds.
1:01.6	An archaeological team working at South Assasif, just east of Deer al-Bahri, have identified a cluster of tombs.
1:09.9	This includes a Middle Kingdom monument with several intact
1:13.8	burials within. The team is led by Marion Brew as part of the South Assisive Conservation Project,
1:21.6	who are working in this area to identify tombs and cemeteries that cover many centuries.
1:28.4	The new monument contained multiple burials, at least 11 of them.
1:33.1	The bodies are damaged by flooding, but their skeletons remain, along with jewellery, a copper
1:38.6	mirror, amulets, fragments of clothing, and more.
