If you are a gym member, then you know what January is like.

In one word, chaotic.

Everybody and anybody who had been intending on joining the gym at some point during the prior year, finally did and are there. And all the members who had fallen off

the habit of going to the gym are also there. The other day, Brad and I were discussing how it is at the gym

now. If is it more crazy, is he able to get in? Can he get to the equipment he wants? And it was just

a curiosity question because this tends to happen every single January. It just gets a lot more

crowded and chaotic at the gym. January joiners is a term that people often use to describe the people who are joining in

on all the New Year's resolutions and goals and flooding the world in all the ways.

Now, January joiners get a pretty bad rap.

In some ways, I understand it, like crowding the gym when you're used to getting the

equipment and the treadmill or the class that you want. But in most ways, I do not get it. To me,

it's just another way to criticize people for being a quote-to-quote, try hard. I don't know what the

deal is with this, but I see this everywhere. And I feel like it started

way back in junior high or middle school, and it still continues into adulthood, where people

make fun of people who are trying to hard. And January joiners get grouped into that try hard group
