Once again, I have no idea how to tackle what happened yesterday.

According to numbers from USA Today, the S&P 500 was up 9.5% to close at 545690. The Dow was up 7.9% closing at 40,60845, and the NASDAQ was up 12.2% ending the day at 17,124.97 for its biggest one-day gain since 2001.

All of that, after President Trump said he was pausing reciprocal tariffs on all countries for 90 days,

while raising China's levy to 125%.

So not all countries then?

Let's see, that's a 125% tariff on China plus the 10% global tariff, which is still in place.

Meanwhile, other tariffs troubling for Apple, like the 46% tariff on imports from Vietnam,

and the 32% on imports from Taiwan, are, at the very least, put on hold.

I mean, they're still way off where they were a week ago yesterday.

On the 2nd of April, they were trading at just under $224. Before Trump's lunchtime surprise yesterday, they had gotten

as low as just under 172. Then the big reveal, landing Apple at $198.85 at the closing bell, up $26.43, or 15.3%, and within striking distance of its $3 trillion market cap.
