Listener discretion is advised. You're going to do. In the last episode of the murder of my family, we discussed the heart-wrenching case of Little Rachel Runyon and how after 36 years her mother Elaine is still waiting for answers in the murder of her little girl.

In this episode, we talk with another mother named Jennifer Milsap,

who has agonized over the murder of her daughter, April Milsap.

Like in Rachel's case, April's murder was a cold and senseless one, and in the blink of

an eye, he changed her family's lives forever.

If there's any kind of bright spot in April's case,

it's that her killer was caught, tried, and convicted for her murder. That won't bring back April to her family, but at the

very least they know that the man who's responsible is locked away in a prison and

won't get the chance to hurt somebody else.

It's because of this positive outcome

that I chose to end season one of the murder and my family

with April's case.

It gives us all hope that justice sometimes prevails and that sometimes the bad guys don't get away.

Our maid of Michigan is where a 14 year old April Milsap called home, not even classified as a town, but rather a village,

are made up both the population of just under 2,000 people,

located an hour or so north of Detroit. It's not the kind of place that's used to seeing shocking crimes happen within its borders.

That's one reason why April Milsap wasn't worried when she left her home to walk her beloved dog Penny on the afternoon of July 24th, 2014.
