So this essay on urbanism, city planning, and architecture focuses on Leon Creer.

He is a very interesting and unusual figure.

He was born in Luxembourg City and grew up there in the 50s and 60s with dreams of becoming an architect.

He seems to have been at that point thoroughly infused with modernism,

and when he won a prize for something at school,

He is very forceful and emphatic in the way he talks, and he's adept at communicating with words and cartoons and buildings.

And his older brother was an architect, and he went off to study architecture in Stuttgart,

the way that you would if you were going down the conventional route.

But in Stuttgart, he came away like many people who go to architecture school expecting
